ts prehistorical curiosities deserve special attention : the flint implements uncovered in the nearby Jankovich-cave belong to the so called "Szeleta-culture". It is a well-known place of excursion and the protected Öreg-kõ hill is very popular among the rock-climbers. On its confines - today it is called Péliföldszentkereszt - in the Middle ages Knights of the Temple lived. The ancient church of Bajót- rebuilt several times during the history - is now decorated with the phase-paintings of Piroska Szántó. The Calvary sculptural group of Péliföldszentkereszt from the 18th century is also worth mentioning. Today about 1500 inhabitans live in Bajót.

Die urgeschichtlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Ortschaft verdienen besonders Aufmerksamkeit. Die aus der nahen Jankovich-Höhle geborgenen Steingeräte gehören zu der sogenannte szeletaer Kultur. Ein bekannter Ausflugsort und eine beliebte Felsenkletterschule ist der geschützte Altstein. Im Mittelalter haben in seiner Gamerkung - dem heutigen Péliföldszentkereszt - Temelritter gewohnt. Die merhmals umgebaute alte Kirche von Bajót zieren heute Stationsbilder der Malerin Piroska Szántó. Erwähnenswert ist auch die Kreuzwegskulpturengruppe aus dem 18. Jahrhundert in Péliföldszentkereszt. In der Ortschaft leben heute etwa 1500 Menschen.

Õstörténeti érdekességei különösen figyelemre méltóak: a közeli Jankovich-barlangból elõkerült kõeszközök az ún. szeletai kultúrához tartoznak. Ismert kirándulóhely, kedvelt sziklamászó iskola a védett Öreg-kõ. Határában - a mai Péliföldszentkereszten - a középkorban templomos lovagok laktak. Bajót sokszor átépített õsi templomát ma Szántó Piroska festõmûvész stációképei díszítik. Említésre érdemes Péliföldszentkereszt 18. századi Kálvária-szoborcsoportja. A települést ma mintegy 1500-an lakják.
