On the territory of the village of 5-600 inhabitants the archeologists have uncovered findings from the Roman times but it is more famous for its great son : in 1893 Donát Bánki and József Csonka inventors took out a patent for the carburetor which was the most important station in the history of motoring. The memorial room of Donát Bánki is furnished in the local library, besides it the catholic church built under the order of the Esterházy family also deserves attention.

Auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde in der 5-600 Menschen leben, wurden auch Gegenstände aus der Römerzeit gefunden, aber sie ist eher dadurch berühmt geworden, daß der Erfinder Donát Bánki hier geboren wurde, der zusammen mit János Csonka im Jahr 1893 den Vergaser patentierte, der eine der wichtigsten Stationen in der Geschichte der Autotechnic war.Das Gedenkzimmer von Bánki wurde in det Bibliothek der Gemeinde eingerichtet. Interessant im Ort ist noch dei katolische Kirche mit historischem Charakter, die die Esterházys erbauen ließen.

Az 560 lélekszámú község területén római kori emlékeket is találtak, de nagy szülöttjérõl sokkal inkább híres: Bánki Donát feltaláló Csonka Jánossal együtt 1893-ban szabadalmaztatta a porlasztót, amely az autózás történetének egyik legfontosabb állomása. Bánki emlékszobáját a Strobel-kastélyban rendezték be.A falu jelentõs mûemlék jellegû építményei közül legrégebbi 17. századi barokk temploma, megtekintésre érdemes az ún. Bezerédy-ház és a Hunkár-kastély. Egyik szép természeti objektuma a határában levõ horgásztó.
