Its name takes its origin from an ancient forename, it is first mentioned in a document from 1209. For a long time it belonged to the Abbey of Pannonhalma. In 1547 the Turkish troops destroyed the village together with several other ones in the neighbourhood. After that it got into the ownership of the Archbishop of Esztergom. The number of its inhabitants is a bit less than 500.

Der Name der Ortschaft hat seinen Ursprung in einem alten Pesonennamen und wird erstmals 1209 urkundlich erwähnt. Lange Zeit war sie im Besitz der Abtei Pannonhalma, wurde dann wie viele andere Dörfer der Umgebung von den Türken 1547 zerstört und gelangte danach in den Besitz des Erzbischofs von Esztergom. Die Ortschaft zählt etwas weniger als 500 Einwohner.

Neve õsi személynévbõl ered, oklevélben 1209-ben említik elõször, sokáig a pannonhalmi apátság birtoka, a törökök, mint a környék sok más faluját, 1547-ben elpusztították, ezután az esztergomi érsek tulajdonába került. Valamivel kevesebben mint 500-an lakják.
