The name of this village originates from the name of the German Wigman family. The number of its population is about 500. It was peopled again with presbyterian Hungarians. Its presbyterian church built in late Baroque style in 1796 is a historic monument. In 1914 a tower was built to the building

Der Name der Ortschaft wird auf den Namen des deutschen Wigmanstammes zurückgeführt. Heute leben hier etwas mehr als 500 Einwohner. Die Verwüstung durch die Türken hatte den Ort entvölkert, später siedelten sich reformatische Ungarn hier an. Die reformatische Kirche aus dem Spätbarock ist ein historisches Denkmal, das 1796 errichtet wurde. Der Turm wurde 1914 auf das Gebäude gesetzt

A német Wigman nemzetség nevébõl származtatják a település nevét: lakóinak száma ma valamivel több 500-nál. A törökdúlás elnéptelenítette, késõbb református magyarokkal települt be újra. Késõbarokk református temploma mûemlék jellegû, 1796-ban emelték s az épületre 1914-ben tettek tornyot
