It was inhabited in the Bronze age. The archeologists have uncovered here findings from the Roman times and from the Middle Ages. Today the village has about 5-600 residents, but more and more people come to rest here. The composition of its population is still determined by the settlement of the Germans - in the 18th century. Its late Baroque catholic church is a historic monument, its cellars built in popular style are especially interesting. A big wine-press originating from here can be seen today in the Museum of German Nationality of Tata.

Hier leben seit der Bronzezeit Menschen. Die Archäologen haben hier auch funde aus der Römerzeit und dem Mittelalter gemacht. Heute werden 5-600 ständige Einwohner gezählt, aber immer mehr Menschen kommen in diese Gegend zur Erholung. Die Zusammensetzung der Bewohner wird bis zum heutigen Tag durch die Ansiedlung von Deutschen im 18. Jahrhundert bestimmt. Ein historisches Denkmal ist die spätbarocke katholische Kirche. Besonders interessant ist die volkstümliche Kellerreihe. Eine von hier stammende große Weinpresse kann heute im Deutschen Nationalitätenmuseum in Tata besichtigt werden.

A bronzkortól lakták, római és középkori leleteket is feltártak itt a régészek. Ma 5-600 állandó lakost számlál, de egyre többen jönnek üdülni erre a vidékre. A lakosság összetételét máig meghatározza a németek 18. századi letelepítése. Késõbarokk katolikus temploma mûemlék jellegû, népi pincesora különösen érdekes. Egy innen származó nagy szõlõprés ma a Tatai Német Nemzetiségi Múzeumban látható.
