It is mentioned as "Cheu" in a document from 1262, but it was populated even before: it was an important place for the Romans which fact is proved by the archeological findings and the ruins of a watch-tower. The tipical trade of this region was the time-burning to which the material was offered by the Pilis-mountains.

There are well-known excursion places in its neighbourhood, its up-to-date "sight" is the motocross-field of the Kopasz-hill, where national competition are organized too. About 2300 people live here today. Its catholic church with valuable furnishings in it, is a historic monument.

Im Jahr 1262 wird die Siedlung als Cheu erwähnt, war aber bereits davor ein bewohnter Ort. Für die Römer war er ein wichtiges Gebiet, was die archäolagischen Funde und die Überreste eines Wachturmes beweisen. Eine charakteristische Beschäftigung in dieser Gegend war die Kalkbrennerei, wozu die Berge des Pilisgebirges den Rohstoff lieferten.

In der Umgebung sind bekannte Ausflugsorte zu finden. In neuerer Zeit ist die Gegend auch Landeswettkämpfe ausgetragen werden. Die Einwohnerzahl beträgt rund 2300. Ein historisches Gebäude ist die katholische Kirche mit ihrer beachtenswerten Einrichtung.

Cheunak említik 1262-ben, de ezt megelõzõen is lakott hely: a rómaiak számára fontos terület, amit régészeti leletek, õrtorony-maradványok bizonyítanak. Az 1700-as években telepítették be ide a mai lakosság szlovák elõdeit.

Környékén ismert kirándulóhelyek - Eszperantó-forrás, Leány- és Legény-barlang - találhatók, újabb kori nevezetessége a Kopasz-hegyi motocross pálya, ahol országos versenyeket is rendeznek. Lakossága 2.300 körülire tehetõ. Katolikus temploma, benne figyelemre méltó berendezéssel, mûemlék jellegû.
