 It was named after an ancestral Hungarian leader. Into the nearly depopulated village at the begining of the years of the 1700, Slovakian people were settled, whose descendents have been living here even today. Till 1950 it belonged to Veszprém County, today the number of its population is about 1300.It is the skiing-centre of the Bakony-mountains due to its ski-lifts which were built some years ago. Its Baroque catholic church with its neoclassic facade is a historic monument.

Diese Ortschaft erhielt ihre Benennung vom Namen eines alten ungarischen Führers. Im dem sich entvölkernde Dorf wurden am Anfang der 1700-er Jahre Slowaken angesiedelt, deren Nachkommen noch heute hier leben. Bis 1950 gehörte der Ort zum Komitat Veszprém. Seine Einwohnerzahl liegt bei ungefähr 1300.Durch den vor einigen Jahren erbauten Skilift wurde der Ort zum Skizentrum des Bakonyvorlandes. Historische Sehenswürdigkeit ist die barocke katholische Kirche mit klassizistischer Fassade.
