The village of 2500 inhabitants - situated nearby Tatabánya - was named after its old vineyards. Its best known sight is the Homo erectus find uncovered by László Vértes in tuffaceous limestone, together with animal bones, ancient footprints and the signs of the use of fire. The 300-350 thousand year-old find can be seen in its original environment on the local exhibition area of the National Museum. The neighbourhood of the exhibition area is a nature conservation area.

Die Ortschaft erhielt ihren Namen durch ihre alten Weinpflanzungen. Sie liegt unmittelbar neben Tatabánya und ist heute eine Gemeinde mit 2500 Einwohnern. Bekannteste Sehenswürdigkeit, die gleichzeitig ihre historische Vergangenheit bezeugt, ist der von László Vértes im Kalktuff entdeckte Fund eines Homo erectus, woran sich noch Tierknochen, Fußabdrücke und Spuren der Feuerbenutzung anschließen. Der auf ein Alter von 300-350 Tausend Jahre geschätzte Menschenfund kann auf der örtlichen Ausstellungsfläche des Nationalmuseums in seiner originalen Umgebung besichtigt werden. Die Umgebung des Ausstellungsortes ist ein Naturschutzgebiet.

Régi szõlõültetvényekrõl kapta a nevét a közvetlen Tatabánya mellett fekvõ, ma mintegy 2.500 lakosú község. Legismertebb nevezetessége, amely egyben bizonyítja történelmi múltját, a Vértes László által mésztufában felfedezett Homo erectus lelet, amelyhez állatcsontok, lábnyomok és tûzhasználat nyomai kapcsolódnak. A 300-350 ezer évesre becsült elõemberleletek a Nemzeti Múzeum helyi kiállítóterületén, eredeti környezetükben tekinthetõk meg. A bemutatóhely környéke természetvédelmi terület.
